Stamford Hospital is a leading hospital operator in Connecticutt and is in the process of building a new $400M replacement hospital and was looking for a strategy to expand and secure market share in preparation.  Their management team had discussed urgent care strategies but wanted some advice on how to evaluate location opportunities as well as the entire market to determine where and how to approach such a project.

Situation

Though Stamford Hospital is sole provider in Stamford proper, there are other hospital in nearby communities and the vast city of New York is a short ride away.  Stamford Hospital enjoys an excellent reputation and had established outstanding outpatient facilities in the community but as they were moving forward in their new hospital project, they needed to expand the market to make sure that the new hospital would have the supporting network it needed.

In consideration of developing urgent care services, they called upon Urgent Care Advisors to review the market to assess the opportunities and to assist in locating the right site for their new venture.  UCA assisted in this effort as well the securing of the location, providing a business strategy for developing and growing the business.

Eventually, Stamford Hospital engaged UCAdvisors to manage the new venture and see it open and operational
